"With this Great Opening of Material, let there be a Great Opening of Spirit."

Welcome to Won-Buddhism of Richmond Virginia

Dear Friend,

On behalf of our entire community, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to Won-Buddhism of Richmond. Whether you are seeking a path to inner peace, a deeper understanding of meditation, or simply a supportive community, we are
honored that you have found your way to us.

At our temple, we focus on the practice of Il-Won-Sang (the Circular Symbol), representing the interconnectedness of all life and the enlightened nature within each of us. Our goal is to provide a sanctuary where you can cultivate your mind
and spirit amidst the busyness of modern life.

As the Head Minister, I am here to support your spiritual journey. My background includes over two decades of practice and instruction in meditation, Tai-Chi, and Qi-gong, and I am always available to discuss how these practices can meet
your individual needs. What to Expect During Your First Visit:

A Peaceful Environment: Our temple is a space for quiet reflection and mindful presence.
Guided Instruction: Don't worry if you are new to meditation; we provide guidance for practitioners of all levels.
Community Connection: After our services, we often share tea and conversation to build meaningful bonds.

We invite you to join us for our weekly services or any of our upcoming wellness
classes. If you have any questions before your visit, please do not hesitate to
reach out.

We look forward to practicing with you soon.

Palms together,
Rev. Kye Sung Kim
Head Minister, Won-Buddhism of Richmond

Prayer for the day

I wish and pray sincerely and truly

Where my hands touch the world

Where my feet walk on the ground

Where my voice echoes through the hills, and

Where my mind is penetrating, that we,

All together, all together, share a true affinity

For attaining great enlightenment and

Reaching out to all living beings.
