The Principal Book of Won Buddhism is the Won Buddhist Canon. It is the primary scripture written by the Founding Master Sotaesan. Within its pages the fundamental Won Buddhist teaching is elucidated in a simple and easy fashion.
THE SCRIPTURE OF THE FOUNDING MASTER
The collected discourses of Venerable Sotaesan expound the Won Buddhist dharma in real situations so that it can be applied in actual situations of daily life. The Scripture is a collection of Venerable Sotaesan’s instructions and discussions over the course of his twenty-eight-year teaching career.
THE DHARMA DISCOURSES OF
CARDINAL MASTER CHŎNGSAN
The Dharma Discourses of Cardinal Master Chŏngsan collects the teaching of Sotaesan's successor, Chŏngsan, the second Head Dharma master of the Won Buddhist order. The collected words of Venerable Chŏngsan show the way to attain blessings and wisdom in daily life and how to realize Buddhahood.

This scripture has been compiled with Dharma words of Venerable Daesan, the third Head Dharma Master of the Won Buddhist order and written by the disciples.
THE ESSENTIAL SCRIPTURES OF THE
BUDDHA AND PATRIARCHS
This Scripture is an anthology of eight scriptures, treatises, and verses from the mainstream Buddhist tradition, which were especially influential in helping Sot’aesan interpret and frame his unique insights, insights that would eventually evolve into the doctrines of Won-Buddhism. All these texts are composed in literary Chinese and are either Chinese translations of earlier Indian Buddhist scriptures or original writings by Chinese and Korean authors associated with the Sŏn (Chinese, Chan; Japanese, Zen) tradition.
GUIDE TO PROPRIETY AND
CEREMONY OF WON BUDDHISM
This Scripture is the guide to conduct and ceremony. Venerable Sotaesan published the Scripture to reveal the basic spirit of courtesy. Since then, it has been further revised and supplemented to today. Venerable Chŏngsan said, "The essence of propriety is respect; and the essence of our Scripture of Guide to Propriety & Ceremony is to respect widely and to hold the public in esteem.
THE HISTORY OF WON BUDDHISM
The History of Won Buddhism is the recording history of the Won Buddhist religious order.
THE WON BUDDHIST CONSTITUTION
The promulgation of the Constitution of Won Buddhism, which consisted of 255 articles in 24 chapters drawn up in 2 parts in 1948, was an historical event, and through this the new Order--with its official name and the establishment of a new system--was reborn as a new religion, both in name and in reality.
The Constitution of Won Buddhism is the basic law necessary for the rational and future-oriented operation of the original law. This is one of the Scriptures of Won Buddhism, consisting of the preamble, 9 chapters as 91 articles, and 3 supplementary articles.
